The results of Denmark’s second mass vaccination trial run are in. Health Minister Magnus Heunicke says 104,824 total COVID vaccinations were administered across the country on Monday, exceeding the goal of 100,000 vaccinations, and smashing any other single day vaccination record.
Impressively the vaccination effort was done using only the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines. Use of the Astra Zeneca vaccine remains suspended.
Health officials will now evaluate the day for any lessons learned to potentially tweak the vaccination strategy going forward.
Denmark is hoping to ramp up daily vaccinations soon to 400,000 per day with the state doing 100,000 and private contractors the other 300,000.
